MWI TEAM STARTS AT A BAD NOTE
Wednesday, 22 September 2010 12:50
The Malawi Chess Team currently playing at the 39th Chess olympiad woke up to a rude start at the event by losing all games in both categories. The Malawi Ladies playing for the first time were paired against ICSC, an iternational School for the physically chalenged (deaf and blind people). The ladies featuring Vitumbiko on board 1 foloowed by Linda, Loyce and Ndawonga lost terribly. As the ladies were being brushed, the men were walloped by the same margin with the experienced Portuguese who have agrandmaster in the team. However Malawi can smile today as they are pitted against Iraq because Linda has openned the scoreline with a win against a woman International Master. You may watch live matches at the organisers website at: www.ugra-chess.ru. The tournament that started on 19th September 2010 will finish on 3rd October 2010
